R25, the integrated rack that combines product display and inventory in the same space

R25, the integrated racking system

Today, every square metre of a store must generate value.
The space dedicated to product display and the space used for inventory can no longer remain separated as they were in the past, especially in high-turnover stores where restocking speed and operational efficiency make the difference.

For this reason, integrated racking systems are becoming increasingly important. These systems combine retail display and inventory storage into one intelligent structure.

This is exactly why CAEM developed R25, a system designed to combine sales area and vertical stock storage within the same space.

And to explain it better, we created a dedicated video showing how to assemble it and which features define the R25 system:

The solution: display below, stock above

The R25 system combines two essential functions:

a lower retail gondola dedicated to sales,
an upper high-capacity rack dedicated to stock.

The lower section is fully configurable with shelves and accessories to enhance product presentation and guarantee maximum customer accessibility.

The upper section functions as a real elevated warehouse, using the vertical space of the store to increase storage capacity.

Higher return per square metre

One of the main advantages of R25 is space optimisation.

With traditional shelving, product display and stock are often separated: products are displayed in-store while inventory is stored elsewhere.

With R25 instead:

the same square metre is used for selling and storing,
the need for separate warehouse space is reduced,
more inventory can be managed directly in-store,
the commercial surface becomes more productive.

This approach is particularly strategic in environments where space is limited but product assortment depth is high.

Faster restocking and more efficient logistics flows

One of the most common retail problems is the time lost during replenishment.

When inventory is located far from the sales area, staff continuously move between shelves and warehouse, slowing operations.

With R25, reserve stock is positioned directly above the display area.
This allows retailers to:

speed up restocking,
reduce operational time,
minimise staff movement,
improve internal logistics flows.

The result is a more efficient store, with shelves constantly replenished and fewer operational interruptions.

An integrated system designed for modern retail

Integrated racking systems are becoming increasingly relevant because they combine retail logic and logistics logic into a single solution.

R25 allows retailers to:

optimise vertical space,
improve inventory management,
reduce operational costs,
increase staff productivity,
maintain high display quality.

The structure is manufactured in high-strength steel and designed to guarantee modularity, solidity and high load capacity.

Full configurability in the display section

The lower gondola of R25 maintains all the flexibility typical of CAEM retail shelving systems.

It is possible to configure:

shelves,
accessories,
hooks,
different category layouts.

This allows retailers to create product-focused displays without sacrificing logistics efficiency.

Ideal for high-turnover and technical retail sectors

R25 is particularly suitable for:

supermarkets,
discount stores,
DIY retail,
hardware stores,
garden centres,
automotive parts retailers,
technical retail environments.

In all these sectors, replenishment speed and space optimisation directly affect store profitability.

FAQ

What is an integrated racking system?
It is a system that combines retail display and inventory storage into one structure, allowing retailers to both display and stock products within the same retail space. In practice, the same square metre can be used for both merchandising and inventory management.

What is the main advantage of the R25 system?
R25 allows retailers to use the same square metre for both display and stock, improving operational efficiency and increasing the productivity of the sales area.

Why is restocking faster with R25?
Because reserve stock is positioned directly above the sales area, reducing staff movement and speeding up replenishment. Most importantly, it prevents lower display shelves from remaining empty.

Is R25 only suitable for supermarkets?
No. It is ideal for many sectors, especially DIY, hardware, garden centres, automotive parts and technical retail. R25 adapts perfectly to environments characterised by high product turnover, large stock requirements or limited commercial space.

Does the display area remain configurable?
Yes. The lower gondola maintains the full modularity of CAEM retail shelving systems, with configurable shelves and accessories based on the displayed categories.
